Try to focus on the mechanics of the sailing campaign, rather than the storyline.

Questions such as:

Is doing the weather and sailing checks useful and interesting or just annoying.

Is it better to have the crew very fleshed out, or just more or less unnamed.

Is visiting lots of different locations interesting or overwhelming.

Does the passage of a large amount of game time help, hurt, or irrelevant to the campaign.

Star Wars?

Just a completely random idea that popped in to my head but I think it could be pretty cool to give it a try. My idea for Whitesword's Spring/Summer Campaign would not be in Icefia but maybe in a galaxy far far away. I know Whitesword has extensive knowledge of Star Wars and he good put that to good use in running a Star War's Campaign. The rules are almost identical and I don't think it would require that many books for us to play. Anyway this is just a crazy idea that popped into my head and I thought might be a cool change of pace but of course this all revolves around everyone especially Whitesword wanting to do this. Let me know what you all think.

End of an Era?

i figured i'd start this sad but important post. seeing as it has to do with "running a campaign," it made sense to give this unused category some much deserved attention.

consider this an airing of gievances if you will, where those of us can whine and complain about the fact that our adult responsibilities are finally starting to catch up with our gaming habits.

i, for one, will miss gaming terribly if next season gets cancelled. however, we should consider the possibility of other members of our core group running campaigns so that our weekly tradition has a chance of surviving. we could always rotate hosting duties if need be, that way those of us with kids (or those soon to be parents like myself and jay) can still participate from time to time.

i now leave the forum open for discussion to you, my fine friends and fellow gamers.
