For the purposes of ease of continuity, we are going to play out the meeting at Desartalla to discuss the drow after the planning for Torrence.

Regardless of what is decided, since the many others on hand would prevent you from doing anything exceedingly foolish, you will be alive to go to Mydir and aide Emmerick.

So we have:

- interactions on the outer planes

- planning for Torrence with Emmerick

- meeting just between the group in Desartalla when everyone gets back there from the planes.

To Emmerick and Clement-..."Last time Master Clement was able to teleport us to Kermeny and we walked from there. We were not stopped, but I doubt that to be the case now. Is there a way for the Professor and myself to change our identity magically?"

"If we can manage to get into the city again, the others can do the scouting for us. I don't think it would be safe for us to show our faces again until we actually try and take Torrance back."

"I guess our best bet is to use the cover of darkness and try to get into the city and find an inn. Not sure we want to risk staying at the same place, but there are others. Once there Emmerick and myself should stay out of sight until we can locate Torrrance again."

I should mention, that although Solaris is not here, you have both Ri and Jonathon (Solaris' other cohort) at your disposal if you need some help. He can't come with you and fight, but he can do other things if needed.

Joseph the cleric of Falan, who had tracked Torrence to Hertoplowis originally, is also at your disposal.

"I agree. Once we have found Torrance again we can then go and get him."

For the DM...When Emmerick and Tchau walked in last time what is the 'urban sprawl' like? Would it be possible for part of the party to wait on the outskirts of the town? Would that be a safer alternative than being right in the city?

Once Saren and Tchau are reunited Tchau gives back your cloak. It is now has five runes sewn in that represent the five energy types. He tells you that once you wear it for 24 hours you can activate it for protection from any one of the energy types. (Activating it is an immediate action that grants you resistance 10 until the start of your next turn.)

From what you saw of the sprawl, it doesn't end except at the border with Pacyr and at some other place deeper into the nation.

We may be better served this time by simply attempting to infiltrate Torrence's home.

First, he may be more inclined not to flee if he thinks he has the advantage. Second, assuming he does nit want the authorities to know what he's been up to we might have more time to take him. Last, there may be evidence there that we will lose if we grab him on the street.

"I think we need to seriously consider the ramifications of assaulting Torrence's home. We do not know what defenses he has in place there. There are many a tale of adventurers assaulting residences of their foes and having traps, like force cages that trap everyone inside while the foe escapes. Also, unless the house is made entirely out of stone, Tchau's abilities will be severely limited. If Torrence has, as we expect, other guards with him, Tchau's ability to cause mass casualties on our behalf will be limited by how much collateral damage he wishes to cause us at the same time. I think Tchau's power is one of our greater assets in battle.

Secondly, his home may or may not be his base of operations. We just don't have enough information.

It will take us some small amount of time to to get there, but I think we should send Ri there now to begin his information gathering. The more time he has to search, the more likely we will be able to find a suitable place to confront and capture Torrence."

"Best case scenario, we ferry him out under the cover of darkness as quickly as possible since, according to Tchau and Emmerick, teleportation can only be used well outside the city. I suggest leaving Gales outside of the city at a predetermined location and, once we have our captive, we meet up with him and he teleports us back to Mydir.

With Gales in place this way, we have the ability to get our quarry away even if all of our plans fall through. One of us should be able to get him to the rendezvous point."

"I'm certain that our last visit has put Torrance on high alert. If there was any damning evidence at his home, he has probably hidden it away or destroyed it. Our best chance for information is probaly going to come directly from him."

"If we can do this quickly and quietly I think Sarens' plan would serve us well. If it does not go as expected, then I agree we do not want to be confined to any place where I am rendered ineffective."

"Since Torrance seems to be a crucial piece to this puzzle, we must succeed. If we find ourselves in a fight for our lives I do not want to be forced to hold back for fear of hurting the others in our party. I also do not wish to engage the entire town either. If Torrance is found to have a more formidible force this time, whatever we do must be done quickly and without mercy."

"I have no desire to spend my days as a wanted man. I am not certain which side of the law this whole mission falls on. We know the right thing to do is to bring him back. If we are acting outside the law, or even in a gray area, this is our last chance. We must do everything in our power to make sure we get him, and ourselves, out this time."

We will pick up tomorrow, assuming we get to play, with the planning for the taking of Torrence. We will then go back and do the meetings on the outer planes and in Desartalla.

I respectfully disagree on a few points. Torrence knows the extent of his scrying protection. He also knows that we attempted to arrest him in a public place that we saw him frequent. He therefore has no reason to believe that we know where he resides and would most likely hole up there.

Second, while attacking his home is no doubt dangerous it may be considerably safer for us, and all the rest of you even more than me. Remember, I am an official agent of a Counsil Power, there under color of authority to arrest a member of my own church. Ri and Saren, you are cultists and T'Chau, you are an apostate, no offense intended to any of you. The laws of Hertopowlis are much more in my favor than yours. I for one am not going to fight the lawful agents of Hertopowlis, both because it would be bad for me personally, but because I do not want to risk the reputation of the church. If we attempt to take him on the street again and the authorities respond the consequences could be far worse than the defenses that he may or may not have in place.

Last if we go back to searching for him and he gets wind of it we may find the tables turned and be ambushed ourselves. From the looks of you, I would say none of you wish to repeat that experience.
