"If he was able to disguise himself as a dwarf in your midst, he is quite skilled. Finding him in a place like Magenthia will be nigh impossible. He seems to have great skill at avoiding detection. Even Ajax ans Solaris could not discern the nature of that individual and they were within feet of him."

Ajax is clearly enraged after the battle/escape, his ordinarilly serene face looks quite "orky". He stalks over to a window, preferrably one facing the direction of sunrise, takes out the Kingmaker, drives its point into the floor, kneels and prays in a very angry tone (in orc) for about five minutes.

After he gets up he retuns to the regent: I am sorry my lord, I offer you my word as a paladin of Stasis that the assassin was not here because of either Solaris or I. He was here for you and chose this moment to strike against you in an attempt to discredit me or kill me.

The murder of the wrestling god's followers is just the begining. These are dark times and those that plot against Tyrogatore seek Stasis' downfall as well. Stasis is the patron of just rulers and as such those that oppose him seek to remove and replace good men such as yourself with tyrants and subversives. As you replaced a corrupt ruler I am sure you are an especially attractive target. (He offers him the hilt of the Kingmaker) Grasp it and tell me what you feel.

"You should know why we are here. You know the temples and shrines to the Lizard King in the String Mountains have been destroyed, our clergy murdered. The filth Cromnar, one of your city's judges, was linked to these crimes and convicted post-humously for his involvement. We believe he was one component of an orchestrated assault across Habololy on the religions of Tyrogatore and Stasis by the faiths of Everventual, Vishtoo, Tommimao, Lavash'Ki, and Corahakar. An agent of Vishtoo is here in the mountains, I believe he is the one who drove us from the Orphanage, and probably the one who attacked our faith here using information given to him by the clergy of Everventual. I have been trying to set up a meeting with you for weeks now to discuss this. What is your King prepared to do about these atrocities committed in his realm?"

The regent hesitates for a moment and looks you over.

Then, he quickly reaches down and takes the sword. A Look of distance and serenity comes over his face. After half a minute, it vanishes, he blinks and he looks at the sword.

"It showed me a coming war and me as protector of Port Springs against an onslaught. I could not see the enemy."

He offers the sword back to Ajax.

(Ajax puts the sword away) The sword only responds to the touch of just rulers. Stasis will bless you in the comming troubles but as the leader of this city you will have to be strong in your faith and will.

Peace, Haas. They have tried those that you had evidence against. Now we will do justice for your slain fellows and show those that would stand against our Lords that their time is soon to end. If we uncover more conspirators we will bring them before the proper authorities.

I would ask you Regent, and you High Constable, only that you believe what we have told you and what you have now experienced for yourselves and see to it that you are vigilant against this evil. The assassin may return and both of you may be at risk. Reckugal knows of the danger and will aid you if have need of a warrior.

The regent's face turns stern.

"Be mindful when you speak of King Bruunmor. He is deserving of great respect.

I cannot speak for my King and his actions when he hears of this. I will send word ahead of you if you wish to speak with him. I would think this is of significance to warrant an audience with him or High Cleric Mothmur."

"I can speak for myself. As regent of Port Springs, I will be on the look out for any plots against Tyrogatore and Stasis. However, I do not believe there is a following of the Lizard King here in the city."

"Everentual has already left the city. Corahakar and Vishtoo are not welcome. Lavash'Ki is of no importance in the city, and Tommimao is limited."

Klek responds, "We will be on watch for him, thank you for your warning. Is there anything else you can tell me about him? Any information helps." A book hovers over Klek's should where a quill is magically writin everything that is said.

They convicted a dwarf who was already dead. Forgive me if I do not take a great deal of satisfaction from that. And meanwhile, the rest of Everventual's clerics simply left the city. You know they had a hand in this as well.

The regent responds, "I am honored by Stasis. I have always considered him to be a top tier deity. I have sworn by my king to protect the city against all threats, and I will do so in his name as well as Smofarf and Stasis."

"Out of curiosity, who else has this sword blessed?"

An audience would be appreciated, if our journey brings us near the King's home. If you could send word to representatives of the Counsil faiths in the Kingdom, excluding Everventual and Tommimao, and make them aware of the situation, the extra attention may help flush out the perpetrator.

(sigh) Haas . . .( in response to the dead convict quote)

A woman in the wastes of Barnstenagore was the first to be blessed. I was fortunate to meet you, sometimes the sword directs me but at othertimes I depend on good fortune. There is a third, like the assassin and I , a Tyradin of Sutyr, a hobgoblin by the name of Hepp. He seeks to overthrow just, lawful rulers and supplant them with dictators. If he sets foot in your beautiful city I suggest you drown him as soon as you can find the water to do it in.
As for the assassin, this was our first encounter so you know as much as I. Clearly he is skilled for Solaris and Brother Lenny are mighty warriors and he evaded their blows skillfully. He evaded your magical detections as well. As I have no doubt that dwarven magic is as potent as ever he must be heavily shielded from divinations.

"I will send word of this to the king so that if you find yourself near the Kingmount, they will expect you."

"I will send word to Mothmur, he can decide which of the other high clerics of the kingdom to alert to this."

"Thank You." says Klek, "and let me give you some information about this assassin in return. He teleported specifically to a resort in Magenthia called the Gables of Sand. He has clearly been there before, as he appeared in their magical transport room. Unfortunately, that room has spells on it that prevent us from determining where he went from there."

Directed to Klek and the regent. What do you know of the regions east of her. What are the major temples their to the gods involved in the conspiracy. Also any important cities that are there or any cities in towns who would have a strong allegiance to any of these gods. I also ask the same information about the religion of Tyragatore if we already don't have the info from the good clerics we have with us.

Klek says, "I am a city dwarf, Port Springs is my area of knowledge, and magic. I don't know anything that could help you in those areas."

The regent says, "I have never seen a temple to Tyrogatore in the kingdom. Nor to Lavash'Ki, Vishtoo, Everentual, or Corahakar. I have heard there is now a temple to Tommimao in the northern kingdom. There is only one temple of Stasis I know of, and that is near Kingmount."
