In preparation for our summer sessions, here is a place to post and ask questions.

I will fill in what has happened over the next two weeks.

You can assume that at least Enzo, Hipolet, and Keshen have been together for at least one month.

Send me an email with your level(s).

After coming to Habololy many years ago to deliver a message of warning, Keshen first wandered the Main Continent. He traveled with some adventurers that lead him to Icefia. Once in Icefia, he tried to deliver his message, but was received with skepticism and a lack of concern.

The only people in the kingdom that took him at all seriously lived in the Bardic College, so it was there he stayed. At the college, he found a life far better than any he could find in his home world. He spent years there, learning the ways of this new place, and forgetting why he had come.

He was finally brought out of his college years by a message and a symbol that arrived at the college. A story told by a guardian that had been captured in the String Mountains (Dovan) included the description of the symbol of a cult, the symbol being a black icicle (Kostchtchie). Snapped back into reason, Keshen arranged to be taken to a guardian near the string mountains (Garanuf).

Upon reaching Garanuf, he learned that the guardian had enlisted the aid of several others in infiltrating the cult and finding out what their plan was. Keshen agreed to help and offer what information he knew.

Enzo came to the String Mountains and Port Springs, looking for those responsible for a crime. He got wrapped up in an assassination attempt in Port Springs, where he and some others were set up. They were forced to flee the city.

For some time, they traveled through the mountains, encountering a hermit fire wizard and a chasm with a toll collecting dwarf. Finally, they were tracked down by some from the city and some were brought to justice. There, he helped end the reign of the wizard Allar and spoke with an Amatine assassin about his efforts to bring killers to justice and learn why they had acted. He found out that he was not yet powerful enough to confront those responsible.

Enzo they ended up, after being cleared of the assassination, helping Some others find a kidnapped guardian (Dovan). They tracked him and his captors through the forest. They finally caught them and rescued Dovan. Shortly after, they met with Garanuf, who asked them to help him uncover who Dovan was going to be sold to.

Enzo agreed to help.

Hipolet was hired to guide some city folk through the forests he knew well to track down kidnappers. He and the group succeeded.

After their success, they met with Garanuf, who asked some of them to help him determine what threat was to their forest, which he believed was tied into the kidnapping of Dovan and involved a new cult of ice or cold.

Hipolet agreed.

Along with a Gree named Tolan, who was looking for a way back to Icefia, the three aforementioned and Garanuf infiltrated the meeting of the cult and the kidnappers, who they posed as.

They were confronted with winter wolves, a giant, and a chosen of Frostine. They defeated them and captured the chosen, who they were then able to question.

I assume all of you know of all this about each other.

What you learned and what you are going to do to follow. Feel free to ask questions.

The captured chosen's name is Zokent, a spellcaster of ice, although you are not able to figure out divine or arcane.

The interrogation of him goes poorly, so you are forced to take him south to a spellcaster that can force his cooperation. That travel leads you to a large Frozensky settlement. There Tolan finds another means of traveling west and bids you farewell.

You learn from Zokent that his cult is one of several. You get the impression they want to dominate the mountains and all that live near them.

They kidnapped Dovan to determine what the guardians knew of their plans, or anything about them.

He reveals nothing about how many followers they have, he doesn't know except to say a lot, including barbarians, chosen, and giants. They come from the far north, above where there are any traveled to settlements.

The cleric that is helping you interrogate can do little more. He says that there is some divine interdiction preventing more spells from working.

The name of the settlement yuo went to and is Swef, near the eastern border of the forest.

The name of the cleric that aided who is Aden, a Frozensky Dwarf worshipper of Habastly.

An addition to Enzo's story, during his travels through the mountains with his companions of the time (Gogenstern, Sunjata, Brack, and Parker); he encountered a Frost Giant Jarl named Roflander who aided them is preventing a barbarian town from being destroyed by rogue Frost Giants.

It is clear to Garanuf that those rogues are aligned with the cult you are investigating.

While in Swef Hipolet will speak with Aden about Habastly. He will also see if there is a weapon smith or a shop where he might trade a magical weapon. He has a +2 great axe that he would like to trade.

In the Clandom, magic items exchanges are usually done in a town trading lodge, along with many items of value that are not new from the crafter. You can attend a trade show any night.

Garanuf, like Hipolet, is not one that frequents the settlements, especially the large ones. That being said, he tells you not to get anything shabby for the axe, a magical great axe is a sought after item.

While in the settlement, Garanuf has the coin to put all of you up at modest accommodations.

Hipolet will invite Garanuf to accompany him to the trade show. He hopes to either get a better bow(he has a composite longbow) or make his better somehow(enhancement or arrows?). If that is not possible he would like to get a Dwarven Waraxe to replace his battle axe.
